What I wore to a fashion show

I guess before this post my fashion has been a complete mystery. Mostly celebrities have beheld my ideas at their finest, but I recently went to a fashion show and threw on a last minute outfit, but ended up loving it. This post is all about styling on limited time. This dress I bought in the womens section of macy's, a location I mostly following my mom around it. Sale rack anybody? although I havent worn this dress much I found all my other dresses to be a little too summery for this chilly November night event. This dress is cute, but when I put it on I didn't feel as classy and cute as i wanted to be for this event. I threw on my blue suede peep toe heelsand felt a little better. Not to mention these beloved shoes from the heavens where 20 dollars at Kohls, another store i am seldom found in, unless in tow of my mother. To add some shape to my look I adorned the dress with a simple black belt at the waste and I felt ready for this event finally! OH and the fashion show was put on by students at the Aveda Cosmetology Institute on 16th street in Denver. They did AWESOME!Enjoy  :)

Killer Color Combo

Hellllo champagne and black! You are hot. Edgy-elegance defines this "never go wrong" color combo. and we all know how I like that. Singer, Lights, wears this combination as perfection. She is classy and dressed up for the awards show, but never loses her edge. And not that I have to say it, but her legs look a mile long. A bonus for short girls, me and her alike. I researched forever to find out who designed this fabulous dress, but I was conquered. Yet we all know how an unamed dress can leave us mystified and sometimes this is the best statement made. enjoy :)

umbrella ella ella aye!

Denver doesn't have a ton of rainy days, meaning my wardrobe isn't always "rain friendly." This means I have to mix it up a little. My favorite thing to do is wear a simple outfiit and dress it up with a crazy patterned umbrella. Or you could wear a  cute patterned outfit and sport a clear umbrella like Lauren Conrads. Although I adore all my accesories it can be so much fun to be forced to use a new one like an umbrella on rainy days. enjoy =]

Champagne isn't just for mimosas anymore.

The best dress I have ever seen! Champagne is a neutral color that is a great alternative to the usual white, tan, grey etc etc. Katy perry always does it right. Call me Katy, I will be wanting to borrow this dress.

Girls Just Wanna Have Fun...In Boy Clothes

One of my absolute favorite trends is menswear for women. Watches, hats, oversized work shirts, and fitted work pants are all parts of this hot trend, but the piece that I especially love is a great tailored jacket. This one piece is really a staple item in every womens wardrobe because it is so versitle. Dress it up with a mini skirt and heels or shorts for the summer. Women can make it classy or edgy, light for summer, or layered for winter/fall. we can find this jacket in many colors and patterns.Hayley Williams of Paramore was seen at the 2010 VMAS in a beautiful oversized tailored jacket paired with an amazing pair of military boots, and even a pop of color with the blue bandeau underneath.
Start collecting your jackets ladies. Once you get one, you'll become addicted. Enjoy :)

Nice Buns

My hair is officially getting longer after the a-line I cut my hair into a few years ago. I don't know how i like it yet, but finding hairstyles has been tricky. Ever since my days of ballet, I have avoided the "ballet bun." Lately I have found myself loving this spin on the tradish tight and stuck up bun. It has come a long way from the literally gelled and slicked back style I was forced to do. It is simple and I have found compliments every outfit nicely. BONUS: it takes me about 15 minutes less to get ready. Enjoy :)

Au Revoir to Summer, but not to dresses!

I love everything in my closet, but the one thing I can never get enough of are my cute summer dresses. Flirty, fun and unique are the traits that make summer dresses so special. Every year I am sad when my wearing of these dresses becomes less and less frequent as crisp weather moves in. This fall I will begin buying many pairs of tights because I realized how stylish and easy it is to pair them with my dresses! stay warm but look cool like Katy Perry does in this Owl Bustier dress made by Sretsis. The best part? dress it up even more with cute heels or make it funky with the edgy aray of tights being offered in recent fashion. The world of tights is your oyster. Enjoy :)
